Meeting Jesus at the table.
We gather around an open table. One that welcomes the stranger, embraces the young and the old and is open to God’s creative expression through his people. We love sharing faith and food around a table and reckon God does too. Taking inspiration from the way that Jesus brought many diverse people together, we want to continue what was modelled in the early Church of Acts. Sometimes messy, but fun, celebratory, and transformative. The life-giving force of gathering together. You come as you are; everyone has a voice and a seat at the table. We share our food, faith, and stories as we grow together in Christ.

Our rhythms
We’re cultivating community around the presence of Jesus. A relational network that gathers as a large group every second week. In the alternate weeks we scatter to meet around tables in homes, cafes and community centres.
You’re welcome to join us for our gatherings, then find out how you can be part of one of our Open Tables.
1st Sunday: One Big Open Table Dinner Gathering @ Mount Martha Community House
2nd & 4th Weeks: Distributed Open Tables @ in homes & community places
3rd Sunday: Worship & Teaching Gathering @ Mount Martha Community House
5th Sunday: Community engagement and mission
3rd Sunday: A focused message or teaching that sets out the next series or theme for the Open Tables.
Gathering together for worship, music, reflection and prayer.
1st Sunday: One Big Open table dinner – we enjoy a big feast of potluck goodness while hearing stories and testimonies from the community. We share in communion and prayer together.
2nd & 4th Sundays: Open Tables are smaller gatherings around the table - in homes, cafes and community places. We read and discuss the Bible together, share in communion, worship & prayer, life together, giving/blessing.
5th Sunday (when they happen): A chance to contribute to local community initiatives, gather our neighbours for dinner or invest in our family and friends.

We believe God’s purpose for us is to see an
interconnected network of Open Tables
across the Mornington Peninsula and beyond
We all know that church as we know it is changing. Liquid’s DNA has always had a sense of exploration, a desire to experiment, learn and respond to how to be God’s church in this time in history, in this culture and place.
As a small piece of God’s kingdom we want to be a home base to an interconnected community of faith on the peninsula. To be an order of local missionaries, scattered in our homes, neighbourhoods, workplaces and fringes each discovering and living out what God has made us for.
We’re looking for kindred spirits who may be interested in starting another Open Table or connecting their existing home church or small group to a network that offers structure, resources and support.
